Bacardi and Vice Magazine teamed up to celebrate Cuban Independence Day at Weylin B. Seymour’s on May 20, 2014 in NYC. The celebration was a modern Cuban cabaret that featured live music and entertainment, photo opps, branded activities and of course, classic cuba libres. The event brought out celebrities including Jenny McCarthy, Taylor Kinney, Erin Heatherton, LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian, Jamie-Lynn Sigler and a headlining performance by Future.

The objective was to celebrate this historic day by honoring Bacardi’s legacy and elevating modern Cuban culture through music, dance, design, and rum.

We joined forces with Vice and Bacardi’s internal teams to help bring the concept to life. Visual styles included a color palette and design elements pulled from the Cuban flag, accented sepia tones, urban Havana visuals, and textures of worn flags, marbled building facades and cigar box labels. The tone of voice was bold, rhythmic and evocative just like the event itself.
